Microblading vs powder brows
Hair strokes or a soft shaded look? How microblading and powder brows compare, and which fits your skin and routine.
Microblading and powder brows are both semi-permanent brow treatments, but they look different and suit different skin. Here is a plain comparison.
Microblading
Microblading uses a fine hand tool to draw thin strokes that look like individual brow hairs. It looks very natural up close and is great for filling sparse spots or reshaping brows.
- Best on normal to dry skin.
- Most natural, hair-like finish.
- Usually lasts around one to two years before a refresh.
Powder brows
Powder brows use tiny dots of pigment to build a soft, shaded look, similar to filling in your brows with powder. The front is lighter and the tail is more defined.
- Often better for oily skin, where strokes can blur.
- Looks more like a light makeup brow.
- Often lasts a bit longer than microblading.
Combination brows
Some clients get hair strokes at the front with shading through the body and tail. It gives you the natural front with more definition overall.
