Why the microblading touch-up matters

The 6 to 8 week touch-up is part of microblading, not an extra. What it fixes and how to prepare.

Before and after microblading at Delaware SMP in Wilmington, DE

A lot of first time clients are surprised to hear microblading is a two step process. The first session builds the shape. The touch-up a few weeks later is what makes it last.

Why you need it

Skin heals in its own way. Some strokes hold perfectly, and some fade more than others during healing. That is normal and does not mean anything went wrong.

What happens at the touch-up

  • Your artist checks how the pigment healed.
  • Faded strokes get filled in.
  • Small shape or color changes can be made.
  • The result is more even and lasts longer.

When to book it

Most touch-ups happen six to eight weeks after the first session, once your skin has fully healed. Coming in too early means the skin is not ready. Waiting too long can mean more fading to correct.

How to prepare

Follow the same aftercare as the first time. Keep the area clean, skip heavy sweating and sun on your brows, and do not pick at flakes while healing.
